Sandia Montessori's Health and Wellness Policy

Sandia Montessori actively works to increase the wellness of your child in four ways.

  1. Application of policies and practices designed to increase your child's wellness.
  2. Training our staff for emergency situations and preventative health care.
  3. Maintaining and creating a healthier physical environment.
  4. Keeping our staff healthy.

Staff Training Requirements and Qualifications

  • All Sandia Montessori School teachers and staff are required to be CPR and First-Aid Certified as an employment condition.
  • Teachers and staff can respond quickly in an emergency situation. A call is made to emergency services (911) if needed.
  • Emergency procedures (fire-drills etc.) are practiced monthly.

A Healthy Environment

  • Decisions regarding toys and learning materials are made with the health and safety of children in mind. We do not use toys with dangerous or hazardous materials or chemicals.
  • Professional cleaning company does a daily cleaning.
  • Teachers disinfect room including all surfaces weekly.

Teaching Staff Health

  • Health insurance plans for staff members.
  • Staff must meet hygiene/healthy standards.
